Mass Effect 2

Postby Borgleader on Mon Feb 01, 2010 4:27 am

I got this the other day and I must say, after playing it for 15-20 hours, I'm highly impressed. I very much liked the first one and so my expectations were rather high and from what I've seen from playing it they've improved on the already solid foundation that the first one was.

Gametrailers reviewed it and gave it a 9.7, Gamespot gave it a 9.0 a definite must if you liked the first one :) (also Miranda is hot ;) )

I got Dragon Age for Christmas and haven't beaten it yet. I haven't played Mass Effect 1 really at all, and I won't play 2 till I beat that. And Bioshock 2 is coming out and I haven't even installed 1 yet.

So basically I'm screwed.

I enjoyed Mass Effect 1, enough that I'll definately get around to playing 2. It's a must play game, but certainly not spectacular. I hated bioshock, so I'll be skipping the second one...

Yet to play much of Dragon Age, but from what I saw I liked. Also, dynamic battle blood is epic.

The battle blood is sort of a farce. If you engage in combat of any kind, it basically just slaps a texture overtop your character for a period of time.

Kill one guy? The blood of a thousand heroes speckles your armor.

Kill an entire army? The blood of a thousand heroes speckles your armor.

I wish they would have had four or five different levels of spatter depending on how long you were in combat.

ME2 is epic. Just played through as paragon and romanced Miranda. Yay for pixelated boobies. Lol. Going through again as renegade. The whole Star Wars-esque light/dark-side feel is much more effective in this game. You could feel it in the first, but not nearly as much.

Also, no spoilers, but the ending is AWESOME. Can't wait for ME3.

QFT I also just finished, and I played it paragon. Was going for Yeoman Chambers but I waited too long and got to the end of the game first so...I'll go back and work on it later or something. Might hit on Miranda next time. Since I cant get Liara :( ;)
