Some problems yo

Postby Damilkman on Thu Dec 27, 2007 8:44 pm

I got a new PC for Christmas, AMD Athlon x2 6000+ Geforce 8600 GT, 2 gigs of ram, etc. Since the beginning I've had problems with lots of different programs connecting to the internet. Programs like Steam, Battle.net, Ventrilo, and others. They seem to get stuck on the same message of "connecting" or "initiating connection" or something similar. I'm not running any firewalls or any anti-virus programs. I am connected with a router, a Linksys WRT54GS. I don't think it has do with the router since my old vista PC connected fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you updated to the latest motherboard drivers from their website?

If your router has a built in firewall, you might wanna disable it. It worked for me when I was setting up Xbox Live for my brother. But thats hardware related, you may aswell give it a try.

Yo dawg, thats a pickle. If yo fo sho bout not running firewall, anti virus, latest drivers ... then there isn't nought I can suggest.

In all seriousness you need to find more symptoms, and reconsider dismissed possibilities.
